about the exhibition :
Mood of the week: Eighties
Exhibition from 27 February to 05 March 2023
The Memphis style, an aesthetic movement of the 1980s originating from a group of Milanese designers, characterized by sparse shapes and lines and bright colors, is definitely making a comeback. Featured at the Musée des Arts Décoratifs in Paris at the moment, we can say that its intentional kitsch is more fashionable than ever. Circles and triangles, graphic patterns in black and white, polka dots and wavy lines, fluorescent colors, playful patterns ... free themselves from the rigor of Bauhaus and modernism. So let's put a B-52s or Prince CD in our hi-fi system to appreciate our selection of the week! It was acceptable in the 80s...
