Mood of the week: Contorsions

Exhibition from 03 July to 09 July 2023

Contortionists, dancers, and gymnasts all have one thing in common: they impress us with the suppleness of their movements and the apparent ease with which they adopt awkward postures. And it's equally mesmerizing to observe forms with convoluted curves, intersecting lines, and aesthetic deformations. So this week, we paid particular attention to works that depict the contortion of forms or bodies, that attempt to visually convey the tension between comfort and discomfort. Let's get physical!
