Begoña Terradas (Badalona, 1983) is a Spanish artist trained in Fine Arts and Illustration, whose work moves between drawing and embroidery.
Through repetitive lines, stitches, and patterns, Terradas builds dense, introspective worlds where sewing becomes drawing, and drawing becomes rich with texture. Her practice is rooted in ritual and repetition: an almost automatic, therapeutic process that gives rise to meticulous compositions, both delicate and intense.
Embroidery, a technique traditionally linked to the feminine world, emphasizes what is delicate, small, and subtle about her work. With touches of humor, using her own home and what she finds inside she often evoques the sense of isolation. Within this framework, Terradas's work explores intimacy, confinement, and psychological space, favoring the allegorical over the narrative. As she explains: “My attraction to repetition may be linked to something compulsive… repeating forms again and again, entering a state of calm that has become necessary for me.”
